Doomshaper Work

Here is an image from some freelance rigging and skinning that I am working on. Chelsea Edwards modeled the character and I am preparing it to be posed for her Portfolio.
When I finish the skinning, hopefully ill be able to add some cool animations to him and add them to both my blog and website.

Borderlands Update - Screens


So Gearbox has finally released some photos of the new concept art style for Borderlands. I was very happy to find that a couple of the screen shots that they decided to use in the PC Gamer spread, had some images of my animations. The game is shaping up really well and I cant wait to play the finished product. Hope everyone enjoys the new screen shots.

About the image - I was fortunate to work on all the animations for this creature.

Demo reel progress: Rough

Brothers in Arms: HH 2008 Rough Reel from kyle king on Vimeo.

This is my rough animation reel for 2008. Most of the animations are me in a mo-cap suit; mo-cap then cleaned up by me, with key frame animation added on top. The finished reel will have a break-down of what was done in each shot.

This rough reel is a combination of some animations I did while working on Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway (from Jan '07 to Sept '07).
The reason for this reel, was to get a feel for where i wanted to place each animation in the time line for the Final Reel.

As the year ends i am going to start a new tradition. In most industry's it is common to update your "Resume", so i have decided to annually update my portfolio (demo reel). I don't think it will be 100% complete before the 1st of '09, but it will be on its way. This will most likely be the last post of the year so i figured I would end it on a good note. A nice shot of my home work station and my helpers.

Shipped Title

So after many months of hard work I have my first shipped title under my belt, Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway shipped in September on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. I had a lot of fun and learned so much while working on this title.
